B Why grade B?

Solid pick. Verified working but with a meaningful caveat (UX rough, smaller market, intermediate trust step, partial coverage). Listed because the trade-off is sometimes worth it.

Curator Verdict & OpSec Breakdown

THE BOTTOM LINE

r/Monero is a verified, functional community forum that performs solidly for day-to-day use, provided readers account for its specific operational trade-offs.

✓

Proven Strengths

▸ Anonymous account model: no real-name, phone, or government ID required to transact.
▸ No-JavaScript compatibility: interface operates cleanly with JS disabled (Tor Safest mode).
▸ Established operational track record: serving users continuously since 2014 (12 years).

⚠

OpSec Trade-offs & Caveats

▸ Clearnet-only footprint: lacks an official .onion hidden service mirror; exposes visitor network IP unless routed through VPN/Tor.

Review

The high-volume Reddit hub for Monero. Mainline news, protocol announcements, beginner-friendly Q&A. Reddit itself is centralized and tracks behaviour, so for read-only access prefer privacy front-ends like Libreddit or Redlib (community-hosted instances bypass Reddit's tracking + login wall). Posting requires a Reddit account. Useful as a discovery surface for newcomers; the deeper technical conversation lives on Matrix / IRC.
