> Self-hosted Monero point-of-sale — watch-only wallet, multi-device pairing (LAN / Tor / Tailscale), Mac desktop + Umbrel app. Free, open source, no signup, no KYC, no platform fees.

## Review

**Self-hosted Monero point-of-sale** built by solo dev brainchainz (X: @SirJamzAlot). Two install paths: native macOS desktop app or Umbrel home-server app. Once running you set up products + pricing, add a Monero **view-only** wallet (no spend key ever touches the box), and pair phones/tablets as PoS terminals via QR code. Real-time WebSocket confirmations when an XMR payment arrives.

**Watch-only architecture.** The device that hosts the dashboard never sees a private spend key — only the public view key. Compromising the box leaks transaction history but not funds. Spendable wallet sits offline on the merchant's hardware/seed, exactly how Monero merchant tooling should be designed.

**Multi-device + multi-store.** Pair tablets and phones as terminals over LAN, Tor, or Tailscale. Run multiple physical locations from one dashboard. CSV export for accounting. Built-in printable receipts.

**Open source + free.** GitHub: `brainchainz/Monero-SuperPay`. No platform fees, no per-tx markup — merchant pays only the on-chain Monero ring-signature fee (~$0.0002 typical). Funded by donations + an active [Kuno fundraiser](https://kuno.anne.media/fundraiser/ufmp/) (Monero Super Suite — bundles SuperPay + Superbrain).

**Grade A.** Open source, watch-only design, self-hosted (you own the infra), no KYC, no signup. Single-dev project so absence of independent audit is the main caveat; the architecture is conservative enough that the trust requirement is mostly "trust the open code."

**Useful when:**
- You're a merchant who wants to accept XMR in-person or online without a custodial processor
- You already run an Umbrel home server or a Mac you can dedicate as POS host
- You want full control of the wallet keys + no third party in the payment path

**Caveats:**
- Solo-dev project, no public audit — read the code or pin a known-good release
- macOS or Umbrel only at the moment; no Windows/Linux desktop yet
- You manage your own backups, your own wallet seed, your own uptime
